The Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants meet in an NL West division matchup in MLB action from Oracle Park on Friday night.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to build on back-to-back wins after an 11-9 win over the White Sox in their series finale on Thursday. Freddie Freeman has 65 hits with a .290 batting average while Justin Turner has 31 RBIs and 16 doubles. Trea Turner also has 67 hits with 14 doubles, a .302 batting average and a team-high 46 RBIs. Freeman also has 21 doubles to lead the Dodgers while Mookie Betts has 65 hits, 16 home runs and a .289 batting average. Walker Buehler will start here and is 6-2 with a 3.84 ERA and 52 strikeouts this season.
The San Francisco Giants will look to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last 7 games with a 4-2 loss to Colorado last time out. Joc Pederson leads the Giants with 13 home runs and 30 RBIs while Wilmer Flores has 49 hits with 33 RBIs of his own, 12 doubles and a .255 batting average. Thairo Estrada has 51 hits with a team-high 12 doubles and 24 RBIs as well this season. Mike Yastrzemski also has 13 doubles of his own as well as a .280 batting average on the year. Jakob Junis will start this one and is 3-1 with a 2.51 ERA and 35 strikeouts this season.
Los Angeles is 43-18 in their last 61 series-opening games and 39-15 in their last 54 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 road games. San Francisco is 50-24 in their last 74 division games and 45-22 in their last 67 division games while the under is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games overall.
I get the case to be made for either side here, as the Dodgers have that imposing lineup and one of their best starters on the hill in Walker Buehler, but Jakob Junis has been no slouch and neither have the Giants. Neither team has been all that consistent as of late and both have played in their fair share of low-scoring games so give me the under here.
