Oakland Athletics vs Texas Rangers 4/22/22 MLB Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Texas Rangers and Oakland Athletics meet Friday in MLB action at Oakland Coliseum. The Texas Rangers look for a win after losing five of their last six games. The Oakland Athletics look for a win after winning six of their last nine games.

The Texas Rangers have scored 12 runs in their last three games and three or fewer runs in five of their last eight games. The Rangers are 0-6 this season when scoring three or fewer runs. Nathaniel Lowe leads the Rangers with 16 hits and 6 RBI, while Corey Seager and Marcus Semien have combined for 21 hits and 11 RBI. Glenn Otto gets the ball, and he was 0-3 with a 9.26 ERA and 28 strikeouts last season. This will be Otto’s second career game against the Athletics.

The Oakland Athletics have scored eight runs in their last three games and four or more runs in four of their last eight games. The Athletics have won five straight games when scoring four or more runs. Sean Murphy leads the Athletics with 14 hits and 11 RBI, while Tony Kemp and Sheldon Neuse have combined for 28 hits and 10 RBI. Adam Oller gets the ball, and he is 0-1 with a 13.50 ERA and 6 strikeouts this season. This will be Oller’s first career game against the Rangers.

The Rangers are 16-53 in their last 69 road games and 27-58 in their last 85 overall. The Athletics are 5-1 in their last 6 home games and 1-5 in their last 6 overall. The over is 4-1-1 in Rangers last 6 overall. The under is 4-0 in Athletics last 4 overall. The Rangers are 16-35 in the last 51 meetings in Oakland and 19-39 in the last 58 meetings.

The Oakland Athletics aren’t world beaters and Oller is off to a terrible start this season, but at least they’re at home here. The Texas Rangers are in no way shape or form in a position to be favored against anybody with the way they’re getting rocked this season. Otto also wasn’t good last season, and who knows what to expect in his season debut. Yeah. It’s the A’s and the plus money or pass for me here.
