NBA Dallas Mavericks vs Miami Heat Betting Analysis & Pick

My Bookie

Two teams that are bound for the playoffs, and could potentially meet up in the NBA Finals will clash on Tuesday night, as the Miami Heat will play host to the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks come off of the NBA Trade Deadline with a different looking roster. Just a couple of years ago when Dallas traded for Porzingis, many felt that he and Luka Doncic would be a recipe for an NBA title. Porzingis never worked out in Dallas, as he missed many games, including 21 of Dallas’s 55 games this season. Dallas acquired shooting guard Spencer Dinwiddie along with swingman Davis Bertans. With all that said, let’s take a look at both teams and how they arrive to this Mavericks vs Heat matchup so you can bet against their NBA Odds.

NBA Betting Preview for Dallas Mavericks at Miami

A Closer Look

The Miami Heat didn’t do much at the deadline, as Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra seem happy with their squad. And why shouldn’t they be? The Heat are currently sitting at the top of the Eastern Conference standings. Now that Kyle Lowry is back, the Heat finally have their core group back together. With Lowry, Bam Adebayo, and Jimmy Butler leading the way, the Heat have a team built to win an NBA Championship.

While the Heat superstars have missed numerous games due to injuries and COVID protocol, others have stepped up in their place. After a disappointing season, Tyler Herro has made huge strides. Max Strus has been very good, and free-agent acquisition PJ Tucker has been a key pickup. The Heat have a lot of depth, and that will come in very handy come playoff time.

As for the Mavericks, Luka Doncic has really stepped up his game over the last few weeks, and that has helped Dallas rise in the Western Conference standings. Doncic is one of the best players in the NBA, and he can do so much with the ball in his hands. The Mavericks role players also know that Doncic is their guy, and they play to their roles. Getting Dinwiddie will help take some of the scoring and ball-handling burden off of Doncic, and Bertans can shoot the ball, so that will help spread the floor for Doncic to operate.

The Heat will come into this one on a five-game winning streak, along with winning seven of their last 10. Miami is also hard to beat at FTX Arena, as they’re 19-6 at home this season. While they’re playing at a high level, after going on a hot streak of their own, the Mavs have cooled off. They’re 6-4 in their last 10. Dallas is 13-13 on the road this season.

Betting Pick

We’ll see what the Dallas offense has in store for the Miami defense, as the Heat is one of the top defensive teams in the league. Their versatility allows them to do many different things on the defensive end of the floor. Bam Adebayo can guard any of the five positions on the floor, which will help on the pick and roll when Doncic is involved. Miami definitely has the advantage in this one. Playing on their home floor, having everyone healthy, and playing at a high level, we think the Heat walk away with another win as they try to lengthen their Eastern Conference lead over the Chicago Bulls.
