The Texas Rangers and the Cleveland Guardians meet in MLB action from Progressive Field on Monday.

The Texas Rangers will look to bounce back from a 6-5 loss at the hands of the Seattle Mariners in Sunday’s series finale. Nate Lowe has 46 hits and a .261 batting average with 5 doubles while Adolis Garcia has 10 home runs and a team-high 36 RBIs. Corey Seager also has a team-high 47 hits, a team-high 11 homers and 25 RBIs and Brad Miller has 23 RBIs while Marcus Semien has 9 doubles and the aforementioned Garcia has a team-high 10 doubles as well on the year. Jon Gray will start here and is 1-2 with a 4.83 ERA and 44 strikeouts this season.

The Cleveland Guardians will look to build on their 3-2 win over the Baltimore Orioles in their last game. Jose Ramirez leads the Guardians with 53 hits, 14 home runs and 53 RBIs along with a .291 batting average while Owen Miller has a .275 batting average with 14 doubles as well this season. Ramirez also has 12 doubles and Steven Kwan has 34 hits with 7 doubles as well as a .254 batting average this season. Ramirez has 4 triples while Amed Rosario also has 3 triples as well on the year. Cal Quantrill will start for the Guardians here and is 2-3 with a 3.52 ERA and 33 strikeouts this season.

Texas is 5-2 in their last 7 games against a team with a losing record and 27-61 in their last 88 road games while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Cleveland is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall and 4-1 in their last 5 home games while the under is 3-1-1 in their last 5 series-opening games.

I get the reasoning for backing either side in this game, but I’m looking at the Guardians here personally. The Rangers really did me dirty in Sunday’s game against Seattle and realistically, while I don’t love Quantrill or Gray, Quantrill at least has a Guardians lineup behind him that’s hitting and finding ways to win right now while the Rangers find different ways to lose and can’t get out of their own way. Give me the Guardians here.
